WordPress plugin · cookie consent
A cookie banner that does the important things right
Consent Mode v2 signals before any Google tag, scripts held back until the visitor agrees, and refusing as easy as accepting. One CSS file, one small script, no external requests — and it helps you ask for consent properly, without promising what no plugin can.

What it does
Google Consent Mode v2
All signals “denied” by default, printed at the very top of <head> before any Google tag; a returning visitor's choice is applied right after it. Statistics → analytics_storage; Marketing → ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization; Preferences → functionality_storage, personalization_storage.
Google tag in the right order
Enter your G-… or GTM-… ID and the plugin loads it right after the consent defaults: only after consent (basic) or at once with cookieless pings (advanced).
Four categories
Necessary (always on), Preferences, Statistics, Marketing. Switch off the ones you do not use. Nothing is pre-ticked.
Scripts and embeds wait for consent
<script type="text/plain" data-category="statistics"> and <iframe data-uzytak-src> run the moment the visitor allows the category, without reloading.
Refusing is as easy as accepting
“Accept all” and “Reject all” side by side, same size and colour, plus “Settings” for a choice per category.
Accessible and cache-friendly
Real buttons, a dialog with focus trap and Escape, labelled switches, 44 px touch targets, WCAG AA contrast; the same HTML for every visitor.
How it works
1. Install
Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → choose the .zip → Activate.
2. Choose categories
Settings → Cookie consent: the categories your site uses and, if you want, your Google tag ID.
3. Hold your scripts back
Change other tools' scripts to type="text/plain" data-category="…" (examples on the settings page), or let Pro block known trackers automatically.

Good to know
- The plugin helps you ask for and respect consent. It does not make a site compliant by itself: you decide which tools you use, block them until consent and describe them in your privacy policy. It is not legal advice.
- “Advanced” Google tag loading sends cookieless pings before consent. Whether that suits you is a legal choice — check with your adviser; “basic” sends nothing to Google before consent.
- Scripts are held back only when they are marked (free) or recognised by Pro. A scan cannot see scripts that other scripts load later; check your tools yourself too.
- The EU-only banner (Pro) needs a country header from your host or CDN; when the country is unknown, the banner is shown. Other countries have their own privacy laws.
- The cookie policy (Pro) is a template to start from, not legal advice.

Questions
Does this make my site GDPR compliant?
No plugin can do that alone. The plugin gives you the tools — consent before cookies, equal accept and reject, withdrawal at any time, Consent Mode signals. Which tools you use and how you describe them is up to you; ask your adviser when in doubt.
Where is the visitor's choice stored?
In a first-party cookie uzytak_cc in the visitor's browser: the consent version, the allowed categories, the time and a random consent ID. The free plugin sends nothing anywhere.
Does it work with my Google Analytics plugin?
Yes. Leave the tag ID empty; the Consent Mode defaults still come first as long as the other plugin prints its tag in the normal way through wp_head.
Can visitors change their mind?
Yes — with the small round button, the [uzytak_cookie_settings] shortcode or any link to #uzytak-cookie-settings. When consent is taken back, the cookies of common analytics and ad tools are removed and the page reloads.
Is the banner shown on uzytak.com?
No. This page only shows a sandboxed preview inside the demo frame; it sets no cookies.
How do I pay for Pro?
One payment through Lemon Squeezy, for one site or for up to 10 sites. After payment you get the Pro add-on; install it next to the free plugin.
