Description

UZYTAK Room XR is a mixed reality app for Meta Quest 3 and 3S. It measures a room, shows finishes on the real floor and walls in true size and counts the materials and the cost.

The room comes from Meta Space Setup or from corners you mark with the laser. Doors and windows are taken off the wall area. For each surface you choose tiles, laminate or paint; the app counts pieces with cuts, boxes, adhesive, grout, primer, paint, skirting and labour, and makes a PDF.

With Pro the depth sensor builds an unevenness map of the floor or a wall and counts self-levelling compound or plaster.

A tiler wearing Meta Quest measures an empty room; herringbone parquet and sage-green paint are shown on the real floor and wall

What you need

  • Meta Quest 3 or Quest 3S, charged, with both controllers
  • A room with the floor cleared enough to walk safely
  • Optional: Space Setup of the room done in the headset settings
  • Optional: your shop and labour prices for the estimate
  • Optional: a phone or PC on the same Wi-Fi to download the PDF and plans

Step by step

1. Measure the room

1. Measure the room

Choose «Measure room». Take the room from Space Setup, or choose «Mark corners with the laser» and point at every corner in order — at any height, also above furniture. Back at the first corner or button A closes the room.

2. Height

2. Height

Point the laser at the ceiling from the middle of the room, or set the height with − / + or the keypad.

3. Doors and windows

3. Doors and windows

Choose «Add door» or «Add window» and point at two opposite corners of the opening. A door always starts at the floor.

4. Finishes

4. Finishes

Choose the floor, all walls, the ceiling or one wall, then tiles, laminate or paint: size, joint, layout, start point, colour. You see it on the real surfaces.

5. Materials and estimate

5. Materials and estimate

«Materials» shows pieces with cuts, boxes, bags, litres and skirting. Enter your prices and labour (Pro) and press PDF.

6. Files to phone or PC

6. Files to phone or PC

«To phone / PC (Wi-Fi)» shows an address. Open it in a browser on the same Wi-Fi and download PDF, DXF, SVG or CSV.

Tips

  • Point at corners above furniture: the laser takes the corner line at any height.
  • Calibrate the floor once (touch it with the controller) if the plan seems to float.
  • For the unevenness map walk slowly and look at the surface from 1–2 m from several sides.
  • Undo and redo work for every change: button X or the buttons on the home page.
  • Your room is saved automatically when the headset sleeps or the app closes.

Safety first

You walk around a room under renovation with the headset on. The app shows these rules when it starts; follow them every time.

  • Clear the floor: you will walk around the room with the headset on. Keep the Guardian boundary on.
  • Look where you step — cables, tools, buckets, open floor openings.
  • Do not climb ladders or scaffolding with the headset; measure the ceiling with the laser from the floor.
  • Measurements are an estimate (about ±1–3 cm). Check critical sizes with a tape measure.
  • Take a break every 30–40 minutes.
  • Follow the site safety rules of your country.
  • Take the headset off before you carry materials or use tools.

Questions

Which headsets does it work on?

Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S. The laser and the unevenness map use the depth sensor of Quest 3/3S. Versions for Pico and Android XR headsets are planned.

How accurate is it?

About ±1–3 cm for room sizes — enough for areas, materials and the estimate. For a kitchen, built-in furniture or cutting stone, check the critical sizes with a tape measure. The app shows how far each corner is from 90°.

Do I have to run Space Setup?

No. Space Setup is the fastest way, but you can also mark the corners with the laser yourself — often more exact, and it works above furniture.

How are the tiles counted?

The app lays the real tile size with the joint and the layout over your room and counts full tiles and cuts; small cuts are paired from one tile. Then it adds your reserve and rounds up to boxes.

How exact is the unevenness map?

It is an estimate by the headset depth sensor: deviations from about 10 mm are visible. It is enough to see where the floor needs levelling and how many bags to buy. Check before levelling with a 2 m straightedge.

Do I need the internet?

No. Everything works offline on the headset. Wi-Fi is only used to send files to your phone or PC inside your own network.

Where is my data?

Only on the headset. No account, no analytics, no ads.

When can I buy it?

UZYTAK Room XR is being prepared for the Meta Horizon Store. This page gets a store button as soon as the app is available.

Does it replace a laser measure?

For areas, materials and the estimate — yes. For a kitchen or built-in furniture, check the critical sizes with a tape or laser measure.

Can I use my own tile?

Yes: set its size and joint, or with Pro send a photo of the tile from your phone and see it on the floor.
