Inside the app

From a photo at home to a document photo
A normal photo taken at home: the app removes the background, puts a plain light colour behind you and crops head and eyes to the measurements of the chosen document.

45 countries, every size with its official source
All EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, Australia, China, India, Japan, Ukraine and more — passports, ID cards, residence permits, driving licences and visas. Next to every size the app shows a link to the government page it comes from and the date we checked it.
Poland
Passport and ID card 35×45 mm, files for the online ID card application, the MOS residence permit system and the driving licence.
Germany
Driving licence (Führerschein) 35×45 mm and visas. Passport, ID card and residence permit: photo only at the office or a certified photographer — the app warns you.
United Kingdom
Printed passport photo 35×45 mm and the file for the online passport application.
USA
2×2 in (51×51 mm) for passport and visa, the DS-160 visa file and the Green Card lottery (DV) photo.
Schengen visa
35×45 mm photo for Schengen visa applications at any consulate.
Any other country
The international ICAO standard 35×45 mm when your country is not on the list.
Sizes were taken from official government pages and checked on 10 October 2026. Rules change — open the official link in the app before you apply.
Honest: some offices take the photo themselves
In some countries a photo you made at home is not accepted for certain documents — the office or a certified photographer takes it. The app shows a red warning with the official link for these cases, so you do not pay for something you cannot use. Examples:
- Germany: passport, ID card and residence permit (eAT) — since 1 May 2025 only at the office or a certified photographer
- France: passport and ID card — photo with an ANTS e-photo code from a certified booth or photographer
- Sweden: passport and ID card — photo taken at the police office
- Ukraine: passport and ID card — photo taken at the service centre
- Canada: passport — photo from a commercial photographer with a stamp
- Also Bulgaria, Czechia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland for some documents
In these countries the app is still useful for documents that accept your own photo — for example driving licences, visas and other countries' passports.
What the app does
Background removed offline
Any wall becomes a plain light background. The model runs on your phone (Google ML Kit), no upload.
Automatic check
Head size, eye line, looking straight, eyes open, neutral expression, even light, enough detail and framing — with a clear hint when something is off.
Print sheet 10×15 cm (4×6 in)
8 photos 35×45 mm on one standard photo print — a few cents at any photo kiosk, drugstore or photo lab. Cut along the marks.
Single photo, 600 dpi
One photo in print quality to print yourself or send to a photo lab.
Official link for every size
No guessing: every country and document shows where the size comes from.
Warning where self-made photos are not accepted
If the office takes the photo itself, the app tells you before you start.
A whole sheet of photos for a few cents
Print the 10×15 cm sheet as a normal photo print at a kiosk, drugstore or photo lab, at 100 % without cropping, and cut out the photos along the marks.
- 8 photos 35×45 mm on one 10×15 cm (4×6 in) print
- Cut marks at every corner
- Free version: a small “UZYTAK ID Photo · uzytak.com” line on the sheet margin, never on the photos
PRO A4 PDF for a home printer, 13×18 cm (5×7 in) sheet, no UZYTAK line.

Files for online applications PRO
More and more offices accept a photo file instead of paper. With Pro the app saves the file with exactly the pixels and file size the portal asks for:
| Polish ID card (online application) | at least 492×633 px, up to 2.5 MB |
| Polish residence permit (MOS system) | at least 684×883 px |
| Polish driving licence | exactly 480×615 px, under 100 KB |
| UK passport online | at least 600×750 px, 50 KB – 10 MB |
| US visa (DS-160) and DV lottery | 600×600 px, up to 240 KB |
Each file shows its official portal link in the app. Pixel and size limits are from the official pages as checked on 10 October 2026.
How it works
1. Country and document
Choose the country and what the photo is for: passport, ID card, residence permit, driving licence or visa.
2. Take the photo
Stand in front of any wall in daylight and let someone take the photo — or pick one from the gallery.
3. Automatic work and check
The app removes the background, sets head and eyes to the measurements and checks the photo.
4. Print or upload
Save the sheet, the single photo or the online file to your gallery and print or upload it.
What we promise — and what we cannot
- UZYTAK ID Photo is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government authority, passport office or embassy.
- All sizes come from official government pages, linked in the app with the date we checked them.
- Rules change. Check the official page before you apply.
- Only the office decides whether a photo is accepted. The automatic check helps, but it is not a guarantee.
Your photo never leaves the phone
Face detection, background removal and the check run on your phone. There is no account, no upload, no ads and no analytics by us. The photos are saved only where you save or share them. Privacy Policy

Questions
Will the office accept my photo?
The app uses the official measurements and checks the photo, but only the office decides. Open the official link in the app before you apply, and if the office takes the photo itself, the app tells you.
Can I use it for a German ID card or passport?
No. Since 1 May 2025 photos for the German passport, ID card and residence permit (eAT) are taken only at the office or by a certified photographer. The app is useful in Germany for the driving licence, visas and passports of other countries.
Where do I print the sheet?
At any photo kiosk, drugstore or photo lab as a normal 10×15 cm (4×6 in) photo print. Print at 100 % without cropping and cut along the marks.
Is my photo sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs on your phone. The photo stays in the app until you save it to your gallery or share it yourself.
What is the file for online applications?
Some portals want a photo file instead of paper — for example the Polish online ID application, the MOS residence permit system, the Polish driving licence (480×615 px, under 100 KB), the UK online passport or the US visa. Pro saves the file with exactly the required pixels and size.
Is there a subscription?
No. Free stays free; Pro costs €4.99 once and is restored on a new phone with the same Google account.
